1.
"Sharing the Fisticuffs" [Hensley] a face only a mother could love, a heart only a mother could chain, based on example and taught unconscious thought...am i a bad son? am i a bad person? to act like you when i think that when you act like that you are the most cold bitch i ever have met, i could do without you, throw you away. mother have you lost your way or are you just to afraid to say anything to me about anything anymore. i'd open up to you if your head wouldn't turn away, or if you wouldn't discredit what i say or the way that i feel. another wasted try to win your reason without aiming for pleasing, that's not what you deserve. until you stop trying to change me or at least respect my will (know your to blame) and (you can) trust i won't give up my convictions for anyone's last words...sharing the fisticuffs.
2.
"As Two Fallen Stars" [Malarkey/Heck] screaming at the moon, the approaching tide. those words whispered so confidently. we are like the stars, some near and some far. how wishful we are; we burn like the stars. this quiet night, tears seeping through used sand. palms moist, and this time i'm terrified. we bled into the same vial. i hold it tight to my chest. how magnetic it is. how terrified i am. the moon will revolve. the waves will dissolve. your eyes are bashful like dying streetlights. we remain warm, within this ocean of arms. as two fallen stars we bide in the tide. amidst sea and sky, our starry eyes cried. i want to go back to the days there when we said that we would be one, together forever.
3.
"Life In Rewind" [Malarkey] as a broken bat, i lay bleeding. kissing the asphalt as you would a wound. i lay there as a heathen, prey for the heavens. as a broken bird, i lay twitching amidst provocative cold pale skies. mocking my deprived flight, i lay licking my wounds. and as the sun rises orange my eyes drive like daggers into this heart. pain is love after the blood drains. blind as a bat i ride through the new sky, tearing morning sunrise. seeking questions to fill my answers. the air is cool, creamy, whispering into my mouth in its way. only i can hear it breathing. pain is love after the blood drains. amidst dewdrops and a northbound breeze, it kisses the ground through this silence. as the beating of my wings are drowned out by the sun. this is where it all comes together. hollow aching eyes: lighter than a single feather. i push them aside, amidst cold pale skies. i don’t know what to believe, but i know what to run from…

"Past Mistakes Equal Future Blights" [Hensley] and this wasted life with you in the back of my mind, tragedy has come and gone with memories that i havent forgotten: the bridge, days spent out in the rain made up under blankets with kisses. you and i will never get lost. iwish you could understand that i would change the things i did before i met you, because i didn't know that this was you out here. all this time spent traveling alone, i took for granted that you were here to change everything for me...and i let you go. all this time i have been chasing you, you have been running away. i'd take back every word you said, i'd take back every godamn bit of it. now im stuck here in between a rock and a hard place. you're stuck here on my heart and in my mind. extinguish the flames with summer rain. just take my hand, take it now, we'll go home. nothing feels as good as when i'm with you. well, this summer will come into its own.
5.
“The Standstill” [Malarkey] still life captured in long drawn shutters. battered as I seem, I am number than numbers inside a picture: eighteen black tulips with spots of a leopard. a vase of water, a vase of earth. catch bugs like hay fever and ride into hillsides. honey bee handle me, grasshopper flies into my jar. (I want to rest anywhere, nowhere up high) inside a picture: eighteen black horses (nightmares) with manes long as summer and hooves hard as the winter’s biting. awake in a thousand sleeping clouds. running or falling...wasteland is calling. skies tracing thin paper...so smooth on rough fingers, I wonder the other, holes punched out we are under cover. now I’m stuck stitching clouds back together...my distance always burns things slowly apart, but it’s equally corrosive from afar sometimes...estranged by time. sometimes...its best to let go.lizard-like and lazy I head east- sleeping in castles and walking on water, glossy world ball drips molasses flavor. trancelike, squinting foolishly into the fluorescence of streetlamps, babies breath whispers “pollination” and dainty daunts quiver. estranged by time…am I running or falling? forcing self into a shell. crackling still life within me to siphon water out of well. lick the golden edge to cut and drip red. fumbling into sadness and darkness in being, heaving at the altar, stomach concave. sometimes I can't wait for the seasons to change. sometimes all I need is that familiar taste of pain once in a while, so I can standstill...it’s ten below and I can’t feel my toes. if we start walking we’ll be fine you know. well if we walk straight we’re bound to get somewhere else. who cares where we go as long as we leave ourselves behind.
6.
"A Wooden Gun (Shots Ring Out)" [Malarkey] shots ring out. the triumph that comes with hatred will subsist two extinctions, evolve to failure. just as victory comes with unwanted revenge, by circumstance, we rip the wings of our angels. we avenge the loss of loved ones with tortured tears in order to become a broken angel. we die for our own fucking sins. shots ring out. the midnight air sits still, isolation breathes; it hinders seething desire. these cities sleep to free us of our need for dignity: a consolation prize for false upliftment. this is not what we're searching for. this triumph will never survive. unfortunately, thus perisheth our ambition. shots ring out
